04: Tej The Engineer Chef

 

Join me in my conversation with my friend and generally interesting human, Tej Naik. I’m excited to share HHG’s first episode with a non-equestrian. Though he may not have a horse, I challenge any of you equestrian listeners to find some commonality with Tej as he tells his story. It’s easier than you may think.

Tej is currently a chef at Odd Duck in Austin, Texas. In this episode, Tej talks about his childhood in India, his time at boarding school, how cricket is way better than baseball, his immigration experience to the United States, his time in small-town South Texas, and his love for Dairy Queen. A love that he and I both share. This is part one of two since we didn't even get to his college years yet by the end of the episode. You should anticipate a Blizzard-tasting, some Aggie pride, a career-pivot, Lord Krishna, and maybe some back of the house Odd Duck action for Part Two. But for now, enjoy Part One with Tej.
